I have been involved with TLM software since 1994, where I started with Best Software (Timeslips and TimeSheet Professional). Most of my time with TLM has been in professional services, including rollouts, database creation custom training materials, custom report creation, and training.  I have been sent all over the US and traveled internationally in the name of TLM.  The 2 cities I enjoyed the most were Jakarta, Indonesia, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Seeing Christ The Redeemer in person is truly a moving experience.

In my off time, I enjoy driving my 1970 Oldsmobile 442. The driving experience doesn’t get much better than a big block and four on the floor.  I have owned the car for about 25 years, purchased from a museum in Illinois original and number matching. One of my progeny is wrapping up her Associate Degree in Pastry Arts this May. My son is a senior in high school this year, and will be attending Texas A&M in the fall.

We are quite a movie family.  Consequently, we have gone to great lengths to give the kids 80’s movie exposure.  They are well-versed in John Hughes, The Blue Brothers, Midnight Run, Uncle Buck, Back to the Future, and all things Lucas beginning with American Graffiti to name a few.  This benefited them both greatly in Junior High and High School as most of their teachers were products of the 80’s so my kids were able to finish movie lines and know the references where most of the other kids just didn’t get it.  As anyone knows, the more you have to explain anything humorous the less funny it gets.  I also have them educated in the classics, The Marx Brothers, and the Three Stooges.  Once you have experienced Groucho you pretty much realize where the core of a lot of the comedy out there came from.

One of the best decisions we made was moving to a small town in Texas about 16 years ago, away from the Houston suburb we previously lived in.  It’s not exactly Mayberry small here, but the community is tight enough that most people know each other, or know somebody that knows them. We had over 120 people show up at a recent event my family held out here.  So, the friend base here is broader than I have experienced before and all of them are pretty much a phone call or text away from help out.  Easy to see where being friends with a surgeon, an orthopedic, a plastic surgeon, a lawyer, several mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and restaurateurs can come in handy. The list goes on and on.

One of the best jobs I had in my career was in a liquor store in the aforementioned town.  This is probably where most of my friend base was created. Customers who knew me would bring me all kinds of things.  Fresh vegetables, farm eggs, elk meat 1” armor plate because you have to have something to shoot at out here. I have to say, for those of you who haven’t had the experience; I highly recommend living in a small town
